16 years

kristin & i have been married for 16 years today

it has flown by
it seems like it was just a few months ago
that i saw this beauty for the first time
and yes
i did know it the first time i saw her

i’m not sure that she did
but that did not stop me
i told her i loved her on our first date
and i still do

as a matter of fact
i love her more now than ever
i love everything about her

and there are many things to love
since i don’t have the room to list them all here
i will highlight a few

i love that she is so constant
i love that she does not need the spotlight but is more than ready for it
i love the fact that she is passionate about family
i love how she serves everyone & not just to get noticed for serving
i love how she becomes even more beautiful everyday that goes by
(she is absolutely gorgeous)
i love how she nurtures everything she touches, from plants to pets to people
i love how she is in love with evan & davis
i love how she loves Jesus
i love that she loves me
i love her
i love you, kristin

happy anniversary

hearing & balancing

i have been dizzy for 3 days now
i know the symptoms well
it is caused by fluid backing up
in my ears
resulting in an infection
which makes me dizzy

and it is not fun
especially when you have to preach & stand at the same time
i had to be on meds to keep me upright

me

dizziness
all at the same time
oh my

however some may think that this concoction works great…

i made it home sunday evening &
have been laying around all day
and since i am dizzy
i am also bored
i cant play with the fellas outside
i cant read for very long
even watching tv is laborious
computer work is a no no
it is taking me an hour to type this post

i am not complaining
all of this has a point…

while talking to my doctor today
she asked me if had experienced any ringing in my ears
i have
she said that this is common symptom of my condition

she went on to explain that the inner ear
is responsible for two things
hearing and balance

after the call ended
i laid on the couch thinking about that statement
“the inner ear is responsible for two things
hearing and balance”

it is also true in the spiritual sense
it seems that hearing and balance or so connected

what you hear effects your balance
ever notice how what you listen to
or what you read will slant how you view things

at the same time
your balance or lack thereof
can control what you hear
if you are slightly off
it can pervert or distort everything you hear

if your spiritual hearing is impaired
you will not walk in the right ways

and if you are off balance in your walk
you will fall

he that has an ear, let him hear [Revelation 2:17]

the katina’s tribute to mj

i grew up listening to michael jackson
some of my fondest memories are
riding in the passenger’s seat of my uncle tim’s monte carlo
sitting on my knees so i could see out
singing every word to the entire “thriller” album
unlike most pentecostal preacher’s kids
i did not have to listen to that kind of music in secret
my mama was as much of a fan as i was
i continued being a fan through the years

then i met the katinas
and became a rabid fan of theirs as well
they are some of the most talented guys ever
and they are some of the kindest souls i know
